Or maybe you are “just not connecting” or have ongoing conflict. Or maybe you are dealing with sexual addiction, anxiety, depression, or anger. This stuff is hard… really hard. And you should not have to wade through it alone. I genuinely care about the people I work with. I work with individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship issues associates with marriage, family and other life issues. I also provide pre-marital counseling.
I love to work with couples and families regarding marriage and family relationships, but also work with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, anger, depression, and stress issues. Additionally, I work with men on issues of pornography and sexual integrity. I believe if you change how you think, it changes how you do things and changes how you feel.
For those who desire, I openly discuss therapy using a biblical perspective, using practices grounded in scripture and from a Christian faith based perspective. I love to incorporate prayer and the use of Scripture in our sessions. However, I recognize some people do not prefer this. Whether this is incorporated into your treatment process is strictly up to you.

Therapy Methods I Use…
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
Focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors — the idea being that changing unhelpful thinking patterns leads to changes in how we feel and act. It’s typically structured and goal-oriented.
If you change how you think, it changes how you feel and act.
Motivational Interviewing
A conversational approach that helps people explore and resolve their own mixed feelings about making a change — rather than being told what to do. The therapist asks thoughtful questions and listens in a way that draws out the person’s own reasons and motivation for change.
Gottman Method
A research-backed couples therapy that focuses on building friendship, managing conflict constructively, and creating shared meaning. It’s known for identifying specific patterns — like criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling — that predict relationship breakdown, and teaching couples concrete skills to replace them.
Family Systems Therapy
Treats the family as an interconnected unit rather than focusing on any one person’s problems. The idea is that each person’s behavior makes sense within the context of their family dynamics, so lasting change requires understanding and shifting those patterns as a whole.
Structural Family Therapy
Looks at how a family is organized — who holds authority, how close or distant members are, and whether boundaries between family roles are healthy. The therapist may actively reshape how family members interact during sessions to build a healthier structure at home.
“You have challenged me, prayed with me, listened to me, and walked alongside of me through many stages of life. You rejoiced with me in my victories and even in the moments when I struggled. Your compassion was always present”

I utilize a combination of theories but primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I challenge individuals and couples to look at things from a different perspective. I believe if you change how, you think, it will change how you do things and will change how you feel about yourself, about others and about life. I also utilize a number of other theories to address where you are and what you want to accomplish in therapy, including Family Systems, Gottman Methods, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, among others. My goal is to help you to become your own therapist and thus no longer need to see me.

I work with individuals and couples both in-person and via TeleHealth. TeleHealth allows clients to attend therapy sessions remotely via a secure HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. Many clients actually prefer teletherapy due to its convenience and flexibility. I do everything possible to make TeleHealth sessions comfortable, productive, and tailored to your needs. While I find that online therapy is very effective and I often utilize it, sometimes nothing can replace being in the therapy room together. Therefore, I often recommend in person therapy whenever possible.
Yes, I am currently offering appointments on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. However, availability for these times can be limited. I do not offer weekend appointments.

Sessions are a “clinical hour” of 50 minutes.
The frequency of therapy sessions can vary widely based on individual needs and the type of treatment. While attending therapy once a week or once every two weeks is a common practice, it’s important to recognize that there is no universal schedule that fits everyone. Therapy should be customized to each client’s unique situation and requirements. The decision on how often to attend therapy depends on several factors, including the client’s condition, the treatment approach, and their specific needs.
The short answer is “as many as it takes”. Rarely does therapy involve a single appointment. You can continue in therapy for as long as it remains beneficial. There is no exact number for how many sessions to expect. Depending on your circumstances and situational needs, additional therapy appointments may be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc. Some people may remain in therapy for years, when addressing long-term issues. Therapy can provide a space to discuss daily events and receive compassionate advice and professional guidance, a place where you feel safe to discuss any issue. We will work within your expectations and schedule to determine the best fit for you.
You don’t need to face a major issue to go to therapy. We are all “works in progress” and therapy can help with that. Nobody is perfect, and many of us carry baggage and/or unhealthy patterns. It isn’t just for those with mental illnesses, almost everyone can gain from therapy. It can be a valuable tool for improving many areas of your life.
If you find that your mental or emotional health is impacting your daily life, speaking with a therapist can be beneficial. Talk therapy is often the initial step in addressing mental and emotional health concerns
